Generating leads is 70% of the sponsoring battle, but closing is the other 30%.
In fact, closing leads from funnels is a totally different ball game than closing your friend from Facebook. But fear not, it's really not that hard if you employ just a few basic principles.
Here is the bottom line:
1) Get your prospects in a different way than your competition. Example: how does a pizza parlor get customers? They put the coupon on their boxes, they send out their flyers around the surrounding neighborhoods and in that stuffed mailer that comes to the house, and they put that little thingy on top of cars when they deliver pizzas. But what if they geotagged an ad on Instagram? Is any other pizza parlor in the neighborhood doing that? No way. If they did, they would crush the competition.
Same thing here... Right now.... What are all the other network marketers doing? Stalking friends and family (warm marketing), cold marketing (stalking gas stations and Walmart), posting and praying on social media, ATM method in FB groups, YOU run ads to a sales funnel through IG/FB/YouTube and get applications, crushing the competition.
You'll love your life a lot more AND your prospect does what they did to get started, so if you obtain your prospect by stalking them that's what they will do they will likely fail, and they will likely quit. So if you want to build your business long term, you have to find a way to give your team a way to build long term.
2) Don't sound like a tool when you get on the phone with a prospect. Don't sound like a salesperson. Your prospect is getting called by other companies. Don't sound like them. Sound like a normal person. You have a script, but don't follow it. Have a conversation and follow the bread crumbs. It's called pulling the thread. Ask the next logical question after what the prospect just told you. Don't just hop to the next question in the F.O.R.M. The masters get to know the people they are talking to.
3) Creating an incredible offer...it's a misnomer when people say you are a great sales person "when you can sell ice cream to Eskimos". That's actually pretty horrible to say. Why would anyone want to do that? How about you find out what the person wants and needs? Why don't you form an incredible offer around that? Most people in network marketing THINK they are shackled with what their MLM is offering. Like, why don't you sell a system of growth before your prospect even signs up into your downline to help them secure their success? You know, a system where the exception to the rule is failure. Instead of 99% failure in most network marketing companies (because only 1% make it to the top of the comp plan...). Ask yourself, instead of selling ice cubes to Eskimos...wouldn't you rather sell heaters?
And one last thing... Uncovering what they really need to uncover. Our best rebels do this. Nobody ever gives their real response first. You ask, how are you? What are they going to say? Oh, fine! Really? An expert closer digs. Never takes anything face value. They use the power of crushing silence. There is power in vulnerability. There's no need to fancy tactics or Jedi mind tricks. Be inquisitive. Ask until you understand. Genuine questions. Reflect back with confidence that you heard your prospect. Stop having commission breath and be a real person to that person. Ask...what else? You just say....hmmm... Be WITH THEM in their space. YOU know what it's like to really want your business to work when it hasn't. YOU know what it's like to really be disappointed in your results. Now, uncover that pain with them at least two layers deep with them. Care about them genuinely to sit in the silence...
Finally, know this: You MUST become a good phone closer before you can automate your closing in a webinar or sales letter. It is MUCH easier to close over the phone than it is via webinar. Why?
Because you can adapt to each person on a phone call, but once that webinar is playing, you're stuck. So the best way to do this if you want to fully automate your closing process is to become a master phone closer FIRST and then take everything you said on the phone and put it in a webinar.
